A mixologist in Cleveland creates a martini that's so delicious that the mayor can't stop drinking them. Before long, he's completely hooked. Rival politicians are baffled at the mayor's newfound lucidity, scratching their heads as he daintily places insults in their laps without their even knowing. The city follows suit. Art deco buildings spring up out of nowhere and small talk in the grocery line turns into sessions of verbal jousting. After the baseball team changes its name from the Indians to the Algonquins, Cleveland gains a new reputation as the wittiest city in the country. Asked to comment on the change, the mayor was heard to quip, "I dare say they're in need of a round table," as he sipped the last of his drink.
